The LenSx® Laser is an advanced technology used during cataract surgery to enhance key steps of the procedure with precision. It can create precise corneal incisions, soften the cataract for removal, and help reduce certain types of astigmatism.
Laser-assisted cataract surgery is an optional upgrade available to many cataract patients and typically involves an additional out-of-pocket cost that is not covered by insurance.
During your cataract consultation, our team will discuss the benefits of laser-assisted surgery and whether it may be appropriate for your vision goals. We’ll also review your surgical and intraocular lens (IOL) options so you can make an informed decision about your care.
Optiwave Refractive Analysis (ORA)
Optiwave Refractive Analysis (ORA) is an advanced technology used during cataract surgery to help optimize vision after the procedure. ORA provides real-time measurements of the eye while surgery is being performed, allowing your surgeon to confirm the power and positioning of your intraocular lens (IOL) for the most accurate results possible.
This technology can be especially beneficial for patients choosing premium intraocular lenses or those who have had previous refractive surgery, such as LASIK or PRK.
At our practice, ORA is included with all premium intraocular lens packages, with the exception of the Light Adjustable Lens (LAL), which utilizes a different process to fine-tune vision after surgery. During your consultation, our providers will discuss your lens options and help determine the best approach based on your visual goals and lifestyle.
